Bio
Jill is the coordinator for the four labs in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, including the Ethnography Lab, Human Identification Lab, Sociology Computer Lab, and the Laboratory of Anthropology (which includes archaeological material, biological anthropology materials, and teaching/research materials). She supervises and coordinates academic interns and work study students, manages lab resources and equipment, maintains the anthropological collections, and holds open lab hours for sociology statistics students.
Educational Biography
Jill received her M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Iowa, her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her A.A. from McHenry County College.
She has completed paleontological fieldwork in southeastern Montana, both historic and prehistoric archaeological fieldwork in Illinois and Iowa, and paleoanthropological fieldwork in South Africa at the sites of Gladysvale and Matjhabeng. Jill has also analyzed fossil hominin and recent Homo sapiens skeletal collections at 30 domestic and international repositories as well as cephalograms from The University of Iowa Orthodontics Department.
