Research Interests
My primary research interests are in the areas of evolutionary biology, population genetics, and conservation genetics. I am especially interested in mechanisms that maintain genetic variation withing populations and produce genetic differentiation among populations and species. I use molecular approaches to survey genetic variation, and to assess relationships among populations in order to gain a better understanding of the process of evolution. I am also interested in applying the knowledge of the evolutionary relationships, and population genetic structure to the conservation of endangered species.
Teaching Interests
I teaches Laboratory Techniques, Genetics, and Evolution regularly. I also taught Molecular Evolution, Genomics and Bioinformatics, Invertebrate zoology, and General Biology Laboratory.
