Dear Roadrunners, 

I am very happy to report that the Academic Space Improvement Project is on schedule and that there are no anticipated impacts to the start of classes.

Progress to date 

  • Patching and painting prep has been completed in all buildings.  
  • Crews are now focusing on new finishes and audiovisual and lighting installation.  
  • Carpeting and projector installation are complete in the West Classroom and Central Classroom Buildings.  
  • Painting is underway in the Jordan Student Success, Arts, Central Classroom, Cherry Creek and Administration Buildings as well as the King Center. 

Anticipated move-in dates 

Additionally, the project contractor has provided estimated dates for faculty and staff members to move back into their spaces. If special circumstances require teams to move in earlier than is outlined below, the office or department should contact the Facilities Office at facilit[email protected]. The project-management team will be coordinating punch-list walks for each space. The team will contact departments individually to provide walk-through dates and times.

  • Arts Building – Aug. 16-19 
  • West Classroom Building – Aug. 15-19 
  • Central Classroom Building – Aug. 15-19 
  • Science Building – Aug. 16-19
  • Cherry Creek Building – Aug. 13-19 
  • Administration Building – Aug. 15-19 
  • 7th Street Classroom Building – Aug. 17-19 
  • King Center – Aug. 16-19 
  • Plaza Building – Aug. 16-19
  • PE/Event Center – Aug. 16-19 
  • Jordan Student Success Building – Aug. 17-19

Athletics Updates

In addition to the academic space improvements, updates to athletics facilities are nearly complete.

  • Softball-field turf installation is complete. 
  • Rocky Mountain Turf is installing soccer-field padding and turf and will move to the baseball field shortly. 
  • Baseball-field lighting installation is complete. 

RTD EcoPass for employees 

As a reminder, the EcoPass program for faculty and professional and classified staff will continue to Dec. 31. More information will be provided later in the semester regarding future EcoPass availability and procedures to access or renew the College Pass. 

Emergency-leave program extended 

The Public Health Emergency Leave program under the Healthy Families Workplace Act has been extended through Oct. 15. The federal government has indicated that there will be a 60-day notice period before any end to PHEL. If the program is not extended after Oct. 15, the program will remain available for 90 days following the expiration day and then for four weeks after the conclusion of the 90 days.
