Dear Roadrunners,

Fall weather has finally arrived. As we feel the chill today, it’s a good reminder to pay attention to buildings’ heating systems. If your building’s entrance or interiors are particularly chilly or your heaters are not functioning properly, please submit a work order to the Auraria Higher Education Center so crews can assess the system and complete winterization and repairs before the first freeze of the season. Any support that faculty and staff members can offer in reducing the potential for burst or damaged pipes is greatly appreciated.

Voting on campus

In partnership with the Denver Elections Commission, the Auraria Campus will host a 2022 Midterm Elections Voting Center in the Roger Braun Multi-Cultural Lounge. Registered voters can drop off their ballot or vote in person. A temporary student-lounge space will be set up in Tivoli Room 230 during that time. Students will be able to access the lounge during regular Tivoli Student Union building hours.

Additionally, a 24-hour ballot drop box will be posted near the Starbucks patio until Nov. 8.

Protocol on packages delivered to campus

As a reminder, when having packages delivered to campus, employees must provide the vendor with their name, institution and building information.

AHEC’s Distribution Services office has a growing pile of packages that are undeliverable, as the recipient’s name, institution or building identifier is not marked on the packages. If you are missing a package, please contact Cheryl Gallegos, Distribution Services manager, with your tracking number:

Phone: 303-556-3265

Email: [email protected]

Employees can also visit the Distribution Services Department in the Administration Building, Room 175, with their tracking number to retrieve packages. Distribution Services will hold the packages for two weeks from today. After that time, packages will be returned.

weeks from today. After that time, packages will be returned.

Proactive efforts to support campus safety

All Auraria Campus students, faculty members and staff members are invited to attend Campus Safe Night, an annual tri-institutional event that promotes and supports community safety.

This year’s event features a campus-safety presentation from the Auraria Campus Police Department.

Following the presentation, attendees will break into groups to walk the campus and identify safety issues, such as areas that need better lighting or those in need of repair. The groups will reconvene to discuss the identified issues and compile a list of concerns for consideration to the AHEC Executive Office.

Campus Safe Night
Nov. 10, 5 p.m.
Tivoli Turnhalle
Pizza will be served; beverages provided by Tivoli Starbucks.

Thank you all again for your engagement in our campus community and in our democratic processes.

Sincerely,
