Dear Roadrunners,

Last week I announced that this article series will transition from focusing on Covid-19 health and safety to focusing on general campus operations. My future regular communications in the Early Bird will also become bimonthly and will focus on the work of the Administration Branch. Here’s some helpful information to kick us off:

Access to Central Classroom Building

At the request of building occupants, the Central Classroom Building will move to badge-access only, and entry doors will remain locked through the summer. Employees and students who need to access offices and classrooms can visit the ID Cards and Access Control webpage to have their badges properly encoded.

Renovations and improvements

Renovations began this week on multiple MSU Denver proprietary spaces, primarily classrooms and learning spaces. In total, approximately 150 classrooms will receive varying levels of upgrades.

Work will vary between classrooms, but generally includes improvements

  • Audiovisual equipment
  • Lighting upgrades
  • Markerboard installation
  • Repainting
  • New furnishings
  • New ceiling tiles
  • MSU Denver branding and signage

Most projects will be completed by the start of the fall semester, and any work that continues beyond that date will be minor and completed outside of general operating hours to accommodate class schedules. Additional spaces will undergo improvements over the winter break. This will include the creation of two large 60-seat classrooms.

Additionally, improvements will soon begin at the Athletic Assembly Complex. This will include new turf for the athletic fields, new LED field lighting and the addition of new windscreens and padding.

Please look for updates on these projects throughout the summer as MSU Denver works to offer working and learning environments that truly reflect the quality of our institution.

For questions related to these improvement projects, please email [email protected].

I hope you will continue to follow this series so we can keep working together to serve students and meet our mission.

Sincerely,
