The Metropolitan State University of Denver Staff Senate met June 13, led by President Rebecca Reid, Innovation and Transformation analyst for Human Resources, for the final time after serving as president for four years.
Senate Business
With the restructuring of Staff Senate, the body has proposed a new constitution and bylaws with information on moving forward with Phase II. MSU Denver staff members can provide feedback here. Staff Senate will vote on the proposal toward the beginning of the new term.
Senate Committee Round Robin
Executive Committee
- The committee is working on onboarding tasks for new and returning senators and will host an onboarding retreat for new officers and senators on July 18 from 9 a.m.-noon in Jordan Student Success Building 400.
- Committees, please provide 1-2 accomplishments for the year by July 7.
Budget Committee
- Board of Trustees approved budget and compensation increases
- Faculty and administrative staff members will receive a 4% raise in July
- Classified staff members will receive a 5% raise

Senate Policy Review Committee
- The committee is working on a new complaint policy for staff members.
Communications Committee
- The committee is updating the Staff Senate SharePoint.
Elections Committee
- Thanks to all the staff members who contributed to successful Staff Senate elections.
There were no updates from the Recognition and Scholarships Committee; Staff Employment and Support Committee; or the Senate Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
