Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Hart Center for Public Service on March 16 will welcome Fiona Hill, Ph.D., a longtime public servant and senior fellow within the Center on the United States and Europe in the Foreign Policy program at Brookings.

Fiona Hill, Ph.D.

Hill became the first person in her family to go to college when she left the United Kingdom to study at Harvard on her way to becoming an accomplished expert on Russia and Europe. She served three U.S. presidents as a foreignpolicy advisor before becoming a media sensation in 2019, when she connected her childhood of poverty to the rise of populist leaders around the globe. That became the basis of her new book “There Is Nothing for You Here.”

The President’s Speaker Series, presented by MSU Denver and the Hart Center for Public Service, in March will feature Hill discussing her improbable fame and career path and the importance of service with University President Janine Davidson, Ph.D.

A book signing will follow the event, and the first 20 MSU Denver students to register will receive a free book.
