Beginning Jan. 1, the Colorado Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance program (FAMLI), which was approved by voters in 2020, will go into effect.
Metropolitan State University of Denver will participate in and execute on FAMLI, ensuring that all MSU Denver employees who live in Colorado have access to paid leave to take care of themselves and their family when life circumstances prevent them from being able to work.
To implement the program, MSU Denver has partnered with Sun Life and will pay the premium on behalf of all eligible employees. FAMLI contributions will not be collected via payroll from MSU Denver employees who reside in Colorado.
Nearly every Colorado worker who earns at least $2,500 in yearly wages within the state will be eligible.
