Each year Metropolitan State University of Denver publishes an Annual Security Report (ASR) that is required by a federal law, commonly referred to as the Clery Act, that contains policy statements and crime statistics for MSU Denver. The 2022 Annual Security Report is linked here and is available through the following site: www.msudenver.edu/safety/compliance/campus-crime-reports/.

The policy statements address the University’s policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security — for example, policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual misconduct. The report also contains statistics about certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in or on off-campus buildings and property owned or controlled by the University and on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus for the past three years.

In addition to the standard policies, statements and statistics required by law, the 2022 ASR includes additional resources and information to foster more mutual support and a greater sense of belonging. These include:

  • A list of campus-based and regional resources to support individual and community wellness, including information on Rowdy’s Corner, Recreation Center programming and Counseling Center supports.
  • A summary of regional public-health-oriented first-responder programs such as the mental-health-clinician co-responder program available on the Auraria Campus and non-law-enforcement programs such as Denver’s Support Team Assisted Response program and Aurora’s Mobile Response Team.
  • A summary of changes to related state laws and regulations that were implemented since the last ASR was published. This addition is intended to increase equity in public-policy and harm-reduction knowledge and advocacy.

The report is available online. To request a paper copy, please visit Tivoli Student Union Suite 343 during regular business hours, email [email protected] or call 303-615-0220.
