Students filling bags of vegetables at Rowdy's Corner. On Thursday, June 8, Rowdy’s Corner will host the Rowdy’s Corner Farm Stand on the Jordan Student Success Building Lawn from noon-2 p.m. The event is the first in a summerlong initiative to offer fresh, affordable local produce to the Auraria Campus while also supporting Rowdy’s Corner’s year-round operations.

With a $10 donation, Auraria Campus students and employees can fill a reusable bag with kale, spinach, onions, apples and more. All produce will be locally sourced from Metropolitan State University of Denver partners Switch Gears Farm, Ela Family Farms and Sprout City Farms.

Rowdy’s Corner Farm Stand

      • Jordan Student Success Building Lawn
      • Thursdays from noon – 2 p.m., June 8 through Aug. 9
      • Donate $10 and fill a reusable bag with fresh produce
      • Bring your own bag

“The farm stand is intended to help us not only raise money for Rowdys Corner but to help lower food waste, as we are not seeing quite as many students in-house this summer,” said Rachel Briseño, communications and store manager for Rowdy’s Corner.

All of the produce available for purchase at the farm stand will also be available at no cost to students at Rowdy’s Corner. The donations raised will help fund Rowdy’s Corner operations, such as food purchasing, delivery costs and other miscellaneous needs through the upcoming academic year, as the program saw record numbers of hungry students in the spring semester.

The Rowdy’s Corner Farm Stand will operate every Thursday through Aug. 9. To learn more, please contact Briseno.
