MSU Denver celebrates Pride Month 

Metropolitan State University of Denver strives to offer a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, and that effort has earned a 4.5-star ranking on the nationwide Campus Pride Index. While the University proudly celebrates diversity through Pride Month events, LGBTQIA+ support and advocacy continue throughout campus all year long. Be sure to check out the LGBTQ Student Resource Center for student support and refer to the Western Educational Equity Assistance Center Online Resources and Learning Opportunities to better support students in their gender identity and expression.  

 

Denver PrideFest 

Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. 

Civic Center park 

The free communitywide celebration will include more than 250 exhibitors, 30 food and beverage vendors, and live performances all weekend long.  

 

March with MSU Denver in the PrideFest Parade  

Sunday, 8:30 a.m. 

Cheesman Park 

All Roadrunners are invited to march with MSU Denver at the PrideFest Parade. The event will include colorful floats, music and much more. RSVP today to join the fun. 

  • Roadrunners should arrive at Cheesman Park by 8:30 a.m. 
  • The MSU Denver group should complete the route by approximately 10:30 a.m.  
  • Partners and families are welcome to join.  
  • No pets are allowed in the parade.  
  • Carpooling or ridesharing is recommended.
  • MSU Denver gear or anything showing your pride.  
  • Don’t forget sunscreen, hats, comfortable shoes and water.
     

 

Watershed Summit

Denver Botanic Gardens

Join community members, influential decision-makers and water experts at the Watershed Summit hosted by the One World One Water Center. Each year, stakeholders from around the state gather at this event to discuss challenges involving water as a scarce and essential resource. This year’s summit will focus on water availability through the lens of diverse voices and creative points of view, concluding with a happy hour sponsored by Stem Ciders and Boulder Beer.

  • 1:10 p.m.: Keynote from Alex Hager, KUNC.  
  • 2 p.m.: Water Availability Panel.  
  • 3 p.m.: Colorado River Compact presentation from Jim Lochhead, Denver Water.  
  • 3:30 p.m.: Water and Community Panel 
  • 4:25 p.m.: Quincy Reservoir presentation from James DeHerrera, Aurora Water 
  • 4:40 p.m.: Colorado Water Plan presentation from Sara Leonard and Elizabeth Schoder, Colorado Water Conservation Board 
  • 4:50 p.m.: Closing remarks 
  • 5 p.m. Happy hour

If you have a story that you would like featured prior to the hiatus or upon the Early Bird’s return, please submit your request by Monday using the Service Request Form to allow sufficient time for planning.

MSU Denver will be closed July 4 in observation of Independence Day. This includes all offices and departments, classes will not be in session, and campus access will not be available.
