It’s time for Metropolitan State University of Denver’s midyear professional (administrative) employee conversations. This is a valuable opportunity to revisit and revise goals that were set during spring performance evaluations and maintain ongoing relationship-building, coaching and development.

Instructions

Performance evaluations are required for full-time administrative staff. Supervisors and employees should use the Mid-Year Coaching Conversations tool and SMART Goals worksheet to complete midyear evaluations by Dec. 23.

Supervisors and employees should reference the goals that were set during year-end evaluations using the Performance Goals for Next Year section of the Self-Evaluation form or the SMART Goals worksheet.

Helpful tips for supervisors

  • Supervisors are encouraged to use regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings (weekly or biweekly is encouraged). Supervisors and employees can review and revise goals together during this time.
  • These tools will not be collected and can be edited throughout the year as priorities change and shift.
  • As a reminder, MSU Denver received feedback from the Top Workplaces survey, which highlighted valuable insights to include expanding recognition efforts and using Stay Conversations regularly. Supervisors can use this Stay Conversation guide to better connect with staff and engage in conversations to help with development opportunities.

New hire?

If you are a new employee or supervise newer employees, this is an opportunity to set goals and identify areas for professional development.

All new hires should work collaboratively with supervisors to develop and set goals. Please visit the MSU Denver Learning and Development SharePoint site for tools and resources to assist with this.
