The Computer Information Systems Department (CIS) offers a challenging and rewarding academic program that is at the cutting edge of real-world computer applications. Information systems courses include hands-on experience in business computing, problem solving, networking, database software applications; programming language courses in Visual Basic, Java, and PHP; and operating systems courses such as Windows, UNIX, and Linux.
Advanced study is offered in systems analysis and design, database design and administration, telecommunications, local and wide-area networking, data mining, ERP, and Web administration and application development. Internships are available for students to obtain real-world experience in the information systems area.
Our 15 experienced, full-time faculty members are dedicated to excellence in teaching, student development, career planning, student advising, and applied research. A chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) is sponsored by the department. Opportunities for resume building through real design and applications projects are provided for all CIS seniors. We prepare our graduates for today’s competitive job market.
We have signed agreements with Community College of Denver and Community College of Aurora to engage in 2+2 programs where students after completing their CIS programs can transfer to Metropolitan State University of Denver and continue their studies towards a bachelor degree.
The CIS Program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET (111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012, telephone: (410) 347-7700.)

All our programs are available in the evenings for the convenience of nontraditional students. The high quality of our programs is reflected in graduates who have distinguished themselves in business and other professions. They occupy positions ranging from chief executive officer to certified public accountant.
Students may transfer academic credit from other schools to the College of Business. The actual number of credits transferred is subject to university policies, articulation agreements with community colleges, and an evaluation of course credit by the academic departments in the school.
