Commemorating the launch of the first ever CBUS Ambassador program this fall, the select 12 student ambassadors joined MSU Denver’s President Janine Davidson, Ph.D. for a tasty breakfast and an informative chat. Along with our President, this meeting was joined by Vice President for Enrollment & Student Affairs Will Simpkins, Ed.D., Chief of Staff Ed Brown, Interim Dean for the College of Business Ethan Waples, Interim Associate Dean for the College of Business Rey Hernandez-Julian, and our very own Marketing Coordinator Lindsey Wadle.

This was a powerful meeting where President Janine shared insights into her career journey, tips and tricks that have helped her along the way as well as answered all our students’ thought-provoking questions. Everyone went around and introduced themselves, sharing bits of their journeys such as how they wound up at MSU Denver and why they decided to stay. Students also raised concerns about issues they have faced throughout their time at MSU Denver and were met with a keen ear from our President, who was more than eager to take on these concerns and come up with plans to address them on the spot – a sense of leadership and dedication that we’re very proud to have representing MSU Denver.

How The Conversation Went

Students inquired about President Janine’s personal path as a veteran and all the incredible lessons she’s learned up till now. Reasons why our students love MSU Denver and CBUS specifically were brought up, and connections were made due to the shared love and passion everyone held for the university. Every guest, along with our President, shared bits, and pieces that students learned from, highly appreciated, and allowed them to open up even more room for the conversation to keep on flowing.

This initiative was not only groundbreaking for CBUS and MSU Denver as a whole, but highly influential on each of our student’s personal and professional lives. The ambassadors will carry this incredible opportunity with them their whole lives and utilize all the information they’ve acquired from it to their advantage. To mark our semester reaching its final stretches, efforts such as this serve as an amazing motivation for our students to keep going forward and pushing through hardships.

Impact Left on Students

Being a Roadrunner means knowing that MSU Denver always has your back, and there isn’t a greater feeling than that.

We are so incredibly lucky to have such a caring and thoughtful President, who despite having the busiest schedule, makes time for the students first and foremost, is genuine and humble with anyone she meets, and is always looking forward to shaping the best future for MSU Denver and all of its students.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who played a role in making this event happen! We can’t wait to see what amazing things our CBUS Ambassadors will achieve.
