The Accounting and MPAcc programs at MSU Denver are experiencing an unprecedented level of student engagement this fall. From overflowing classrooms to record-setting virtual events, our students are proving that the future of the profession is bright.

Accounting Student Organization (ASO) on the Rise

This strong turnout underscores the organization’s role as a hub for community, leadership, and professional development.

Congratulations to ASO officers Joseph Rairden, EA, Veronica Aguilar Gonzales, John Nguyen, and Eleanor Tuyen Phan for their outstanding leadership and the incredible growth in membership this semester.

Our first virtual event of the Fall semester, Public vs. Private Accounting, hosted by Dr. Letitia Pleis and Dr. Kelsey Dworkis, attracted 48 participants, the largest audience for any online accounting event to date. Attendees learned about the differences, benefits, and challenges of each path, debunking the myth that all accounting roles are the same. This milestone reflects our students’ eagerness to pursue opportunities beyond the classroom to connect with faculty and engage in meaningful career-related conversations. You can watch a recording of the speaker portion here.
