Bio

Hello, my name is Dr. Amy Dore. In addition to teaching, I am the program coordinator for the Aging Services Leadership programs. As an instructor for the AGE, HCM and MHA programs in the Department of Health Professions. I believe it is my job to help you succeed not only as an AGE, HCM or MHA student, but also as a student at Metropolitan State University of Denver. One strict belief I hold is an open line of communication between student and professor. In order to achieve this, there must be a level of trust. To help you to get to know me, let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma and moved to Colorado in 1992. I received my Bachelor’s of Science degree from MSU Denver in Health Care Management and a minor in Marketing in 1996. So, I can officially tell you that I have been in your shoes! In 2001, I received my Master’s of Health Systems from the University of Denver. And, in May 2009, I received my Doctor of Health Administration degree from Central Michigan University.

From 2016-2020, I was the program director for the Master of Health Administration program. Currently, I teach in the undergraduate AGE, HCM and graduate MHA programs. My speciality areas include aging services, rural health, human resources, organizational behavior, and cultural competency.

When times allows, I enjoy being outdoors, photography, and spending time with family.
