Bio

Hello. My name is Kent F. Collins and I'm currently employed full time as a Trauma Nurse Coordinator at Denver Health. As a life long learner I am committed to helping students succeed both academically and professionally. It is my hope that the courses within the healthcare management program provide the learning environment that promotes awareness and a practical approach to health care today and in the future.

My insight into the health care industry comes from practicing and managing in it for the last 30+ years. Most of that time was spent as a paramedic at Denver Health (when I was hired it was Denver General or DG). For 20 of those years I was a paramedic and Field Training Officer. The last six years in the division I was a supervisor in the role of a Captain and I supervised 11 lientenants who in turn supervised 200+ employees. As a paramedic I believe I have insight into the providers point of view and as a supervisor it has given me insight into management.

In my leisure time I try to golf as well as fly fish and generally play in the best state for doing so. As a native I have seen a great deal of it, but not all. I also spend time with my wife and our dogs on excursions within the state.
