April 22, 2020

Dear Roadrunners,

Earlier this semester, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to postpone Spring Commencement. Since that time, we have been gathering information from our graduating students and exploring all possible options for honoring you – our Class of Spring 2020. After reviewing your responses to the survey sent last week, we have decided to host a separate Commencement ceremony for you and your loved ones in December of this year.

This video is my message to each of you about the new timeframe and how proud we are to celebrate your accomplishments. We’ll be sharing this on social media and in the ’Runner, too.

While you won’t be able to walk across the stage until December, you’ve worked hard to earn your degree. You’ll still receive your diploma by mail, and please also keep an eye out for the other ways we’ll be honoring you on your original May 15 Commencement day via social media and email.

On behalf of the entire Metropolitan State University of Denver community, I want to thank you for your patience and flexibility during this challenging spring semester. And congratulations to you on your upcoming graduation.

Sincerely,

Janine Davidson, Ph.D.
President
