Dear Roadrunners,

At the April 7 President’s Cabinet meeting, I gave an update on budget projections for the coming fiscal year at Metropolitan State University of Denver. As I laid out in my presentation, the candid assessment is that the road ahead looks difficult as we grapple with the economic impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.

But Roadrunners are resilient – and brilliant! There is no problem we can’t solve together. That’s why I am calling on our community to put their minds to this challenge and come up with solutions-based ideas to help address COVID-19-related budget impacts.

You can submit your short-, middle- and long-term ideas on this webpage. You’ll also find a video of my briefing from the cabinet meeting on that page.

In an effort to mobilize our collective brain power, I’ve tasked the Strategic Planning Team to pause in their work on the plan, and focus on generating fresh ideas, while also gathering ideas from all of you. They will be deployed to collect ideas from a variety of governance and stakeholder groups across the University, so that each of us has a voice in this initiative.

That’s the power of inclusive leadership. We all have a critical role to play in determining MSU Denver’s future. I look forward to hearing your best ideas!

Sincerely,

Janine Davidson, Ph.D.
President
