Road to MBA #3

A Professional Portfolio concisely illustrates your upward career trajectory, skills, talents, and why you are equipped to pursue an MBA at MSU Denver within 10 pages maximum (whether a Word document or PowerPoint slide presentation saved as a pdf). 

Please note that this is a separate item from your detailed resume.

The minimum requirement to apply through the Professional Portfolio road is that you must have earned a bachelor’s degree and have at least 5 years of significant and progressive business and management experience (e.g., making managerial-level decisions, leading a team, advancing professionally, etc.).

Once complete, this should be uploaded to your application portal.

Start a Graduate (Master’s Level) application, then selecting the MBA program and term of interest.

• If you are a first-time user, you’ll create an account to start a new application.
• If you are a returning use, you’ll log in to continue an application.

• If you have graduated, you’ll need a copy of your unofficial transcript with awarded degree notation.
• If you are expecting to soon graduate, you’ll need your unofficial transcript and a copy of your degree progress report, if possible.

Please note that unofficial transcripts are for review purposes only. If admitted to the MBA program, all final official transcripts will need to be electronically sent to [email protected].

If you have completed or are in progress of completing an undergraduate and/or graduate degree outside the U.S, you must have an official English translation done by a certified translator and a professional course-by-course evaluation showing equivalency to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.

• Applicants can view a full list of acceptable evaluation provider at NACES.org.
• The evaluation company should provide the official evaluation to [email protected] at the applicant’s request.

Make sure to include the month and year of employment for each role listed.

These are professional and/or academic references, listing their names, emails, job title, and a note as to how they are connected to you (i.e., current supervisor, previous professor, etc.)

This is a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Once you have been:

• approved for your Road to MBA type,
• filled out the information about yourself,
• included your list of 3 references, and
• paid the application fee,

then you can submit and continue working on any remaining application materials.

Write and submit your personal statement (500 words) specifically addressing the following:

• the significant factors influencing your decision to pursue an MBA degree,
• your relevant strengths, characteristics, and professional and leadership experiences,
• your career goals,
• why you believe the MSU Denver MBA program is best suited for your educational and professional goals.

Once complete, this should be uploaded to your application portal.
