As we head into the final stretch of the spring semester, the Marketing Department is highlighting a series of events designed to support students in their marketing journey—from hands-on learning and networking opportunities to career-focused conversations with industry professionals and alumni. Each event this semester has offered students a chance to connect classroom learning with real-world experience, build their professional network, and explore the many paths available within the marketing field.

Coffee & Cookies Networking Mixer

The Marketing Department hosted a Marketing Student Networking Mixer: Coffee & Cookies, bringing students and industry professionals together for an informal networking opportunity.

Students were able to connect with marketing professionals, ask questions about the field, and gain insight into a variety of career paths within marketing.

Industry partners in attendance included Joel Grabois, Jesse McFarland, Nikki Lopez, Sarah Chapin, Mindy Gantner, Lindsey Hoffman, Kathleen Schaff, Matthew Salle, and Kirill Kniazev.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to make connections and engage directly with professionals working in the industry.

Marketing Alumni Career Panel

The final event of the semester is the Marketing Alumni Career Panel, taking place next week on Wednesday, April 8th from 2:00–3:15 PM during the Digital Marketing Science class time.

This panel will feature recent College of Business graduates who are now working in a variety of marketing roles. Each panelist brings a unique path and perspective into the industry, offering students insight into what it looks like to launch a marketing career after graduation.

Panelists include:

  • Kailey Maness, Marketing Manager at FlyteCo (a restaurant, bar, and coffee shop in the Fort Lowry area near the Wings Over the Rockies Museum)
  • Jasmin Arenas, SEO Specialist at Red Egg Marketing
  • Demitris Padgett, entrepreneur and Digital Marketing Coordinator for Teriyaki Madness, with additional contract work supporting nonprofit organizations
  • Kika Dzoan, Communications & Digital Content Coordinator for the Colorado PGA and MSU Denver College of Business alumna with both a bachelor’s and MBA

This is a great opportunity for students to hear directly from alumni who have built successful careers in marketing and to gain practical insight as they prepare for internships and job searches.
