On October 14, the Intro to Affordable Housing class had the opportunity to step outside the classroom and explore affordable housing. The instructor led a tour of Arroyo Village, a nearby affordable housing community developed by Rocky Mountain Communities (RMC), giving students a firsthand look at how affordable housing is planned, built, and operated.

Students from both the in-person and online sections were invited to attend, and several online students chose to join the visit even though participation was completely optional for them. Despite the tour taking place mid-morning on a Tuesday, a time that didn’t work for everyone, the group still had a strong turnout. Thirteen students were able to attend, with additional participants shown in photos being members of the RMC staff who helped guide the tour and share insights about the property.

The visit offered students a valuable real-world learning experience and a affordable housing resource.
