Bio

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I hold a Ph.D. in Information Science with a concentration in Data Science from the University of North Texas. My academic background and professional experience span data analytics, artificial intelligence, and health informatics. I have extensive experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in data analytics, database management systems, data visualization, cybersecurity, and information systems. My research focuses on AI-driven analytics, social media sentiment analysis, and data-informed decision making in healthcare and business contexts. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences, with an emphasis on understanding health behavior change, misinformation, and the use of advanced analytical methods such as natural language processing, predictive modeling, and structural equation modeling.

Research Interests

My research interests include social media analytics, text mining, sentiment analysis using NLP techniques such as VADER and BERT, and AI-driven predictive analytics. I am particularly interested in healthcare analytics, health behavior change, vaccine hesitancy, misinformation, and decision support systems in the AI era. My methodological expertise includes structural equation modeling, regression analysis, meta-analysis, and exploratory data analysis.

Teaching Interests

My teaching interests include data analytics, business analytics, data visualization, database management systems, data modeling, data engineering, data mining, and big data analytics. I am also interested in teaching courses in information systems, predictive analytics, statistical modeling, cybersecurity, and health informatics, with a strong focus on applied, hands-on learning.
