Teaching Interests

Yoga is an ancient system for the complete development of the human being. It encompasses much more than "the postures". Rather, it also includes a complete healing system (ayurveda), psychology, detailed cosmology, and meditative practices. Together, these systems elevate the practitioner personally and spiritually.

My own introduction to yoga occurred during my most formative years and set the tone for my entire adult life. Fast forward several decades and I now find myself, as a professor, in a position to impart these same teachings to our next generation.

I feel very fortunate to be able to share what has been so central to my own development. I hope you get as much if not more out of it as I have. This desire is further expressed though the Denver Yoga Underground Yoga Teacher Training, a school I established for more in-depth study.

The deeper intent of yoga is to become more integrated as a human being and discover lasting peace. To that end, I emphasize creating a bridge between one's personal life and the principles of yoga, both beyond and including the postures which comprise about 80% of the course.
