Assistant Dean for Operations

Bio

Courtney Matsumoto serves as the Assistant Dean for Operations in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences (CLAS) at MSU Denver. She leads college-wide operational strategy, including faculty evaluation systems, space planning, and resource allocation, ensuring compliance and optimizing resources. Courtney provides strategic leadership for the CLAS Communications and Marketing Team and serves on several university committees. She champions equity and inclusion through initiatives such as EMBRACE Mentoring and founded MSU Denver’s Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Faculty Staff Alliance. She holds a B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Sociology from Colorado State University and an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado.
