The BirdTalk podcast, produced by the MSU Denver Alumni Association, has released a new episode featuring Chucky Moss (’88, ’91), a two-time graduate of MSU Denver’s College of Business and a 30-year veteran of Wolters Kluwer.

Hosted by Jamie Hurst, the episode traces Moss’s journey from Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood to a successful global career in finance and accounting. With warmth and humor, he reflects on the mentors and experiences that guided his path, the lessons he’s learned about adaptability, and the value of giving back to the communities that helped shape him.

“My goal has always been to leave people better than I found them,” Moss says in the episode. “Whether it’s helping a client, mentoring a student, or reconnecting with my alma mater — it’s all about service.”

Throughout the conversation, Moss highlights how curiosity and lifelong learning have fueled his professional growth, from navigating decades of technological change to leading with empathy and integrity. He also discusses his advocacy for greater representation in the accounting field through the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA, Inc.), as well as his creative outlet in jewelry making — a passion that keeps him hands-on and inspired outside of work.

This episode arrives ahead of Moss’s return to Denver as the MSU Denver 2025 Fall Commencement Speaker, where he will address graduates at the Colorado Convention Center on December 12, 2025. His reflections offer both practical insight and heartfelt encouragement to current students and alumni alike, underscoring the spirit of lifelong growth that defines the MSU Denver community.

The episode is now available on all major podcast platforms and here.
