Contact UsThe BATAAN Memorial March is one of the Army ROTC program’s most meaningful endurance events, honoring the American and Filipino Soldiers who endured the 1942 Bataan Death March during World War II. Each year, a select team of Charlie Rock cadets travels to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, to complete a demanding 26.2-mile ruck march while paying tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who came before them.
Participation on the BATAAN team is earned through months of dedicated training that develops physical endurance, mental toughness, and unwavering teamwork. More than completing a marathon-length ruck, cadets challenge themselves to preserve a legacy of service while building the resilience and leadership expected of future Army officers. Crossing the finish line is not only a personal achievement—it is a tribute to history and a reminder that we never forget those who sacrificed for our freedom.
