Personal Financial Planning

The Metropolitan State University of Denver's Personal Financial Planning Certificate Program has been offered since 1995. The need for financial planning services is at an all-time high. With the public's growing need for objective financial planning advice combined with the rigorous standards demanded of CFP® professionals, the CFP® mark has been placed at the forefront of the financial planning profession. Metropolitan State University of Denver has performed in-house training for American Express Financial Advisors, TIAA-CREF, Charles Schwab, Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo, and Invesco Funds.

This program offered through Metropolitan State University of Denver is one of the most comprehensive training programs in the nation. It will provide you with the tools necessary to pass the CFP® Certification Examination and guide you with the insight needed to become a successful personal financial planner. Qualified CFP® practitioners who have many years of practical experience and who are active in the profession teach the program.

Metro State does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and  marks.  CFP® certification is granted solely by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to individuals who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met ethics, experience and examination requirements.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
