Fall 2025 MSU Denver BFA Thesis Exhibition
November 7 – December 5, 2025
Opening November 7, the Fall 2025 BFA Thesis Exhibition at CVA presents the innovative work of 21 emerging artists and designers from the Department of Art at Metropolitan State University of Denver. This bi-annual showcase not only marks the culmination of their undergraduate studies but also offers a vital platform for students to engage with the local arts community.
This exhibition traces how meaning, power, and identity are made and remade across bodies, communities, and ecologies. Automatic drawings invite subjective readings born from layered intuition; ceramic wall pieces confront catcalling and the male gaze; and a multimedia altar rooted in Mexican-American iconography asserts visibility, memory, and resilience. Sculptural ceramics echo the quiet repetition of aspen groves to honor seasonal time and touch, while a design-led work on wild horse management links personal kinship to systems of control and ethics. Modular plant forms embody survival amid chronic pain and masking. Together, these works create a layered terrain of subjectivity, embodiment, and endurance—inviting reflection, dialogue, and reimagined forms of relation—with each piece reflecting the unique perspectives and creativity of MSU Denver’s talented students.
