Collective Nouns: MSU Denver Faculty and Staff Exhibition

Opening May 15, Collective Nouns brings together diverse artists working across a wide variety of media representing each artist’s unique experiences, influences, and interests. This biennial exhibition offers a peek into the studio art and design practices of MSU Denver’s art faculty and staff, celebrating our vibrant visual art community.

Embodied Transformations
The Next Chapter for Art + Action Alumni

The Art + Action Lab is an internship program at CVA built to foster high school students’ creativity and educate them on numerous artistic career paths. Since 2012, this program has provided various lessons, field trips, guest speakers, art-making workshops, art market opportunities, and pop up exhibitions to the interns, giving them a space to respond to social inequities while allowing them to elevate their talent and professional skills.

Embodied Transformation: The Next Chapter for Art + Action Alumni is an exhibition showcasing art by Art + Action Lab alumni from as early as 2020 to 2025. Each artist employs the human figure to address varying forms of social unrest. In doing so the artist shares intimate fragments of their own identity as they grapple with a world threaded with social and political upheaval. Here, art serves as a vehicle for communicating complex and vulnerable experiences within the body, inviting viewers to connect or relate to the work.
