The MSU Denver Web Content Management System (CMS) Project was an effort to better support and improve MSU Denver’s Web presence. Co-sponsored by University Communications and Marketing and Information Technology Services, the project team originally implemented a Web content management solution in September 2011 to support the creation, management, delivery and sharing of Web content across the University while promoting quality, consistency, accessibility, and security. These elements are regularly assessed to ensure the institution’s Web presence and CMS platform continues to provide a high-quality user experience.
Though the MSU Denver website is managed by UCM and ITS, individual University subdirectories are maintained by each department, center or program using the University’s web content management system. The University’s CMS is powered by WordPress.
Other University services
In addition to WordPress content management system, the University provides enterprise platforms and resources designed to help manage specific digital/web related content:
- Canvas: the University learning management platform.
- Office 365: for University email and calendars.
- Rowdy academic computing environment: provides the ability to develop and post a personal website, develop, compile and deploy programs for academic use, as well as many other services.
- Office 365 – SharePoint and OneDrive: document and media repository/management platform available to all student, faculty and staff
- MSU Denver Online Event Calendar: for University related events, trainings and workshops
- Org Sync: a service available to student organizations that allows them to publish organization information and schedule events.

WordPress New User Training
For new users, you will gain access to the WordPress Web Content Management System by attending a training session with the UCM team. Training will cover how to update web pages, import photos, upload documents and use the basic tools needed to update and maintain your department, program, or service site.
