Finish What You Started

Cost shouldn’t be a barrier to completion. Finish what you started with MSU Denver.

If accepted, MSU Denver’s Finish What You Started (FWYS) program will provide you personal, professional, academic, and financial support as you complete your academic journey.

Support includes but is not limited to:

• $1,000 each semester enrolled (*summer semester not included)
• A dedicated staff member to help navigate your college experience
• A network of community and helpful resources as you complete your degree

You are eligible for this scholarship if you:

• Are a resident of Colorado or classified as a resident for tuition purposes (ASSET students are eligible)
• Must graduate by Spring 2026
  *See below for suggested credit hour completion by academic year to be on track to meet the deadline
• Has not earned a degree (including Associate and Bachelor degrees)
• Have been out of college for at least two semesters (summer included) immediately prior to re-enrolling
• Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA while in the program
• Have experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic (including but not limited to: rent/housing increase; wages/hours decrease; increased food or housing insecurity, etc…)
• Completed/will complete the 2022 FAFSA or CASFA  and have a Completed financial aid file
• Complete any and all additional requirements requested by FWYS COSI staff by agreed upon dates
• Have a desire to finish what you started – your college degree!

We will continue to accept Finish What You Started applications for admitted students for the Spring 2024 semester until April 15th.

*Credit Hour Threshold by Academic Year:
2023-2024: 60 credit hours
2024-2025: 60 credit hours
2025-2026: Must be within 1-2 semesters of graduation
