Finish What You Started, a community partner program grant with COSI

Cost shouldn’t be a barrier to completion. Finish what you started with MSU Denver.

If accepted, MSU Denver’s Finish What You Started (FWYS) program will provide you personal, professional, academic, and financial support as you complete your academic journey.

Support includes but is not limited to:

  • $1000 your first semester, $500* each semester you are enrolled, and $1000 your last semester before graduation
    • *$250 for part-time enrollment
  • Emergency funding available
  • A dedicated staff member to help navigate your college experience
  • A network of community and helpful resources as you complete your degree

Eligibility Requirements

You are eligible for this scholarship if you:

  • Are a resident of Colorado or classified as a resident for tuition purposes (ASSET students are eligible)
  • Have completed 30 or more credit hours (including transferable credit hours) towards degree
  • Has not earned a degree (including Associate and Bachelor degrees)
  • Have been out of college for at least two semesters (summer included) immediately prior to re-enrolling
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA while in the program
  • Have experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic (including but not limited to: rent/housing increase; wages/hours decrease; increased food or housing insecurity, etc…)
  • Have a desire to finish what you started – your college degree!
