Software

Several software providers have been expanding their offerings to allow users to install or use their services on a temporary basis during the health crisis. ITS will add available software to this page as we become aware of offerings.

ITS also supports remote access to several software packages for students. Students can connect to lab computers directly with the Computer Lab Remote Access Tool, or can run a virtual application through the Virtual Lab environment. Please check each service's page for instructions and software availability.


Ableton has temporarily expanded the trial period of their Live software from 30 days to 90 days during the health crisis. Visit https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209071129-Live-Trial-Installation-and-Setup for more information and download options.

Adobe has discontinued their temporary program that granted at-home access to the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Apps to students. ITS is finalizing a solution to provide remote access to MSU Denver lab computers, which will include the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Apps. Please check back for more information once that service offering is available.

Ansys provides free student versions of some of their software products. Visit https://www.ansys.com/academic/free-student-products for more information and download options.

Autodesk provides free education licenses for some of their software products, including Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and Maya. Visit https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/featured for more information and download options.

Minitab has provided MSU Denver with temporary, student-use licenses for their eponymous statistical software during the health crisis. To request this software, please fill out the Temporary Software Request Form.

The license will expire June 20, 2021.

Students can download and install the National Instruments programs LabVIEW and Multisim through MSU Denver's academic site license. To request this software, please fill out the Temporary Software Request Form.

Dassault Systèmes has provided MSU Denver with student-use licenses for SOLIDWORKS during the health crisis. To request this software, please fill out the Temporary Software Request Form.

The license will expire 2 years from activation OR July of the second year of version installed, whichever comes first. For example: If you are on version 2019-2020, the license will expire 2 years from installation OR July 31, 2022.

As part of MSU Denver's regular site licensing, all students, faculty, and staff can request access to Mathematica Desktop, Mathematica Online, or Wolfram|Alpha. Please fill out the Personal Computer Software Request Form for download/access instructions.
