Course Accessibility Audits & Access Checks.
Our mission is to provide the training, skills, and support to improve the accessibility of instructional materials. To support these effort, the IAG has developed the Access Check program for courses. Access Checks are offered as a quick review for accessibility shortfalls present in a course. This review provides a starting point for faculty to begin improving the accessibility of their course resources and materials.
If you are interested in receiving a review to help improve the accessibility of your course, complete our Access Check Request Form, available in the following link:
Once the check is completed you will receive a completed checklist of items that are inaccessible, as well as links to resources that will be helpful in improving them.
While Access Checks provide a glimpse into the accessibility issues in a course, a Course Audit takes a deep dive into the course, it’s objectives, and it’s content. The Course Audit provides a detailed evaluation of the accessibility of the course and all of the content used and referenced within. Once the audit has been completed, you will be provided a detailed evaluation of the course and course materials. This evaluation is paired with a focused meeting, and continued support, to address and improve your course.
This process is highly detailed in nature making availability limited – Contact the IAG as soon as possible to sign up for an Audit.
