Course Accessibility Audits & Access Checks.
Our mission is to provide training, skills, and support with the intention of improving accessibility in instructional materials. To support these effort, the Instructional Accessibility Group (IAG) developed the Access Check program for courses. Access Checks offer a quick review for accessibility shortfalls present in a given course. This review provides a starting point for faculty to begin improving the accessibility of their course resources and materials.
If you are interested in receiving a review of your course, complete our Access Check Request Form, available in the following link:
Once the check is completed you will receive a completed checklist of items that are inaccessible, as well as links to resources that will be helpful in improving them.
While Access Checks provide a glimpse into the accessibility issues, a Course Audit takes a deeper dive into the courses objectives and content. A Course Audit provides a detailed evaluation of the accessibility of the course, the content and references used. Once the audit has been completed, you will be provided a detailed evaluation paired with a focused meeting, and continued support, in improving the accessibility of the course.
This process is highly detailed in nature making availability limited – Contact the IAG as soon as possible to sign up for an Audit.
