MSU Denver Computer Labs - Remote Access Tool

Select MSU Denver lab computers and software can now be accessed off campus.

Connect to lab computers via the Remote Access Dashboard.

System Requirements

1. VPN Connection

In order to access MSU Denver lab computers, you'll need to be connected to the MSU Denver network through Global Protect.

Request access to Global Protect here.

Instructions on how to use Global Protect can be found here.

2. Supported Operating Systems

Microsoft Windows and MacOS are both supported. See below for instructions specific to your operating system.

3. Supported Browsers

The Remote Access Dashboard is compatible with Microsoft EdgeGoogle Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari

Internet Explorer is not supported.

4. Microsoft Remote Desktop 

You will need the Microsoft Remote Desktop client in order to connect to MSU Denver lab computers. 

The Microsoft Remote Desktop client can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store.


Instructions


1. Connect to Global Protect

2. Navigate to https://labstats.msudenver.edu/ from a supported browser.

3. Select an available computer and press 'Connect'

4. From the pop-up window, press 'Download'

5. Open the .rdp file from your Downloads folder

6. Press 'Connect'

7. Select 'More Choices'

8. Select 'Use a different account'

9. Enter your NetID and password and press 'OK'

10. If the connection is successful, you will be taken to the computer's login screen

When you are finished:

Be sure to log out of the computer before closing Microsoft Remote Desktop

Delete the .rdp file from your Downloads folder

 

1. Connect to Global Protect

2. Download and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop client from the Mac App Store

3. Navigate to https://labstats.msudenver.edu/ from a supported browser

4. Select an available computer and press 'Connect'

5. From the pop-up window, press 'Download'

6. Open the .rdp file from your Downloads folder

7. When prompted, enter your NetID and password

8. Press 'Continue'

9. If the connection is successful, you will be taken to the computer's login screen

When you are finished:

Be sure to log out of the computer before closing Microsoft Remote Desktop

Delete the .rdp file from your Downloads folder
