a. Each fraternity and sorority can choose to use an on-campus account for organization finances OR use an off-campus account, including those affiliated with an inter/ national organization.

b. All fraternities and sororities must follow the fiscal policies outlined in the Student Organization Handbook. Organizations selecting an on-campus account will follow MSU Denver fiscal policies. 

On-campus Requirements

a. The Office of the Controller oversees fiscal policies and procedures for MSU Denver acconuts.  Organizations with on-campus accounts can access deposit forms and other financial documents on the Office of the Controller website.

b. Organizations with on-campus accounts must reserve the coporate card to make purchases. The Corporate Card Checkout Request must be submitted 24-48 hours before a purchase is made. When the request is approved, organizations can pick up the corporate card in the Office of Student Activities, Tivoli 305.



a. Fraternities and sororities are expected to follow all inter/national guidance and University policies when traveling as a group.

b. If traveling as an organization (such as to a retreat, conference or meeting), a representative of the fraternity or sorority should meet with a member of the Student Activities staff to discuss appropriate forms and procedures.

The following forms must be submitted prior to traveling as a student organization:

Alcohol and Marijuana

a. Fraternities and sororities must work diligently to follow all federal and local laws related to alcohol and drugs, including marijuana. The fraternity or sorority is responsible for structuring and coordinating programs and events in accordance with these laws as well as guidelines from national organizations.

b. Fraternities and sororities are subject to the Student Organization Alcohol Policy.

c. Fraternities and sororities may not sponsor or host events with marijuana.

d. Individuals and groups must follow University Alcohol and Drug policies available at

Sexual Misconduct 

MSU Denver prohibits sexual misconduct in any form, including sexual assault or sexual abuse, sexual harassment and other forms of nonconsensual sexual conduct, including stalking and electronic harassment. Forms of intimate partner violence, including dating violence and domestic violence, are also prohibited. Students, faculty, staff and visitors should be able to live, study and work in an environment free from sexual misconduct. It is the policy of MSU Denver that sexual misconduct in any form will not be excused or tolerated. Retaliation in any form for reporting such sexual misconduct or for cooperating in a sexual misconduct investigation is strictly prohibited and will be addressed as a separate violation of the Student Code of Conduct. This policy is promulgated under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), 20 U.S.C. §§ 1681 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 34 C.F.R. Part 106; Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. § 2000c). 

In addition, as part of our Title IX compliance, MSU Denver has several resources for students who may have experienced sexual misconduct.
