Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certification

Certificate Overview

The SLPA certificate prepares students to obtain the Colorado Department of Education authorization for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants.

The certificate consists of 16 credit hours of prerequisite courses, and 19 credit hours of required courses, including SLHS 4550 Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Methods. This 7 credit hour course consists of 180 hours of internship and observation under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Students must apply for admission to SLHS 4550 following the guidelines in the SLPA course application.
