Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
We are a community driven profession and therefore a community focused department. To help our students connect with one another and with social work faculty and staff, we have a Fall Assembly event every August. Incoming students at all levels are invited to start building their connections with our social work community while continuing students are invited to join us in welcoming the new classes and re-connecting with one another prior to classes starting.
You’re Invited: 2025 Social Work Fall Assembly – Theme: Connection
Start the semester off strong by joining us for the 2025 Social Work Fall Assembly—an energizing and welcoming event designed to help you build community and feel supported in your social work journey. Whether you’re a pre-social work, BSSW, or MSW student, this event is your chance to connect with fellow students, meet faculty and staff, and gain helpful insight as you navigate the program.
We’re offering two in-person assemblies—one for undergraduate and one for graduate students—at the Tivoli Turnhalle (900 Auraria Parkway, Denver, CO), and two separate virtual evening options via Zoom for those who prefer or need to attend remotely. When you register, you’ll be able to select the format that works best for you. And yes—lunch is included for in-person attendees! Plus, there will be lawn games, music, and plenty of fun to help break the ice and build connections!
At the Fall Assembly, you’ll:
Build connections with classmates, faculty, and student support staff in an inclusive and fun environment
Explore the social work profession and meet others who share your passion or are just beginning to discover it
Learn tips for success in your program, meet your faculty advisor, and get familiar with key campus resources
Discover ways to get involved and stay connected throughout your time at MSU Denver
Participate in a live Q&A with current social work students who will share their experiences and advice
We can’t wait to see you—whether in person or online—and kick off a semester of connection and community!
