Student Government Assembly
SGA Legislative Branch
The SGA Legislative Branch consists of 2 elected students as Student Advisory Committee to the Auraria Board (SACAB) Representatives and up to 8 elected Student Senators. This body acts as the voice of the students by addressing and remedying concerns and taking the initiative with student ideas. Much like the senate in Washington D.C., this body acts through drafting, debating and passing legislation.
Though much of the work done on the resolutions and bills happen during the week or in committee meetings, the Senate votes on and debates all pieces of legislation at official senate sessions. Each meeting contains a public comment section in the beginning, during which guests are free to voice their opinions, concerns, or ideas.

Bio:
Birungi was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, raised as a refugee in Uganda. My name means good luck or something good because I was born during a time of conflict. Like many immigrants, migrated to the US for a better life. Studying psychology in hopes of helping refugees who are internally displaced and traumatized during conflicts. The pride of MSU Denver Roadrunners is diversity. Most of our diversity is found within immigrants. As an SGA SACAB Representative, I feel I'm already giving back to my community. MSU Denver makes me feel the community bond.
