Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
Sept. 17, 2020
Dear members of the Auraria Campus community,
We’re writing to thank you for your efforts in successfully keeping our community safe and healthy since the start of the semester. Our institutions, in partnership with the city of Denver, have worked tirelessly to coordinate a safe return to classes and the Auraria Campus, one that protects your health and safety, mitigates risk, and prevents COVID-19 from spreading within our community. Our ability to implement a safe return to campus has hinged largely on your adherence to our campus safety protocols.
Across the nation, several residential campuses have already had to pivot to remote operations because of COVID-19 outbreaks. Our situation is quite different since, as you know, the vast majority of our students commute to campus, and live in communities all across the Front Range. While large on-campus gatherings are not as much of a risk for us, we expect the public health situation on campus will be inextricably linked to that of the city.
Given that, we are especially reliant on our campus community taking precautions to avoid the spread of the virus while off campus. We would like to remind you of the importance of upholding public health guidelines both on and off campus. Wear a face covering. Wash your hands. Keep your distance from others. Limit large gatherings. Adhere to isolation and quarantine protocols.
As conditions continue to change rapidly, we are making careful decisions that factor in the public health situation both on campus and in the city of Denver, and are guided by the best science and data available. We will continue to keep you informed about these decisions, and especially if we need to shift our mode of operation to remote working, teaching and learning.
Thank you again for choosing to act responsibly and doing your part to keep our campus and community safe. Our ability to remain healthy – and for the campus to remain open – depends on it.
