The Health Institute at MSU Denver is a combined capital and programmatic initiative focused on growing Colorado’s health care workforce through an expanded and integrated academic approach. By bringing together 10 academic departments into a newly designed 70,000 square-foot facility, the Health Institute will increase the number of candidates entering the health workforce in Colorado and facilitate an innovative approach to health career learning that revolutionizes how students in health learn and engage.

The Health Institute at MSU Denver will partner with industry to:

  • Grow the health care workforce through innovation, simulation instruction capacity and increased programming.
  • Prepare and advance health care workers through interdisciplinary training, education and industry partnerships. 
  • Diversify the health care workforce in Colorado.
  • Set the standard for a whole-person approach to wellness education.
  • Deliver health and wellness services.
  • Develop the healthcare talent pipeline from high school through career.

Transformational Gifts

Kemper Gift Announcement

MSU Denver announced on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, a transformational gift from Mariner and Megan Kemper, the Kemper Family and UMB Financial Corporation Charitable. The three-part gift will help the University kick-off its capital campaign to construct the Health Institute, seed an endowed deanship for the new College of Health and Human Sciences, and support the construction of the Classroom to Career Hub.
