Apply to be the 2023 Presidential Faculty Fellow
Applications for the 2023 Presidential Faculty Fellowship are now open and will be due August 26, 2022. This fellowship is a professional development opportunity for Category I and II faculty at MSU Denver interested in honing their leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. The Office of the President is a dynamic setting; the selected Faculty Fellow will be asked to participate in daily tasks, projects, and events as well as bridging the communication gap between faculty and senior leadership. Meet Sophia Tran, Ph. D.
2022 Presidential Faculty Fellow
Since 2016, I have been a full-time lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, focusing specifically on our General Chemistry Laboratories. I was born and raised in a suburb north of Seattle, WA and attend the University of Washington as a first-gen student and obtained my B.S. in chemistry. I stayed at UW to earn my Ph. D. in inorganic chemistry. In my spare time, I like to bake/cook, explore new restaurants, and go on walks.
I applied for the Presidential Faculty Fellowship because I’ve always wanted to take on a leadership role in academia. This seemed like a perfect chance for me to get a sneak peak of what it’s like in administration and to develop my leadership skills.
