Orientation, Transition, and Retention (OTR)
Adult Student Orientation
Sessions offered to adult students over the age of 22 starting classes in the Spring, Summer or Fall Semesters.
Adult Student Orientation sessions are 5-hour sessions designed to meet the needs of first time to college students over the age of 22 without previous college experience. Adult students have different experiences, expectations, and educational goals than traditional-age students, and they approach their transition to college with different questions and challenges. As nontraditional and working students occupy an ever larger percentage of the student demographic, adult students are very important to us and we want to make sure we are catering to your specific needs.
The ASO sessions are offered at different times on different days to accommodate all students. Session information includes Academic Requirements, Financial Aid, Policies, Campus Resources. During the last 2 hours of the session, students have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor in a group registration session to register for their classes.
**Please note that all students MUST pre-register for an Adult Start Orientation. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
