MSU Denver Homecoming 2018
There are many events for students to enjoy during this years “Always a Roadrunner, always Rowdy!” homecoming. This will be happening during the week of Feb.19-Feb.24. Check out the events happening on the following flyer.
The Access Center-Disability Support Services’s mission is to “provide leadership to the university community to ensure that qualified students with disabilities have equal access to University programs, services, and activities through academic accommodations and collaboration in order to advance MSU Denver’s commitment to inclusive excellence”.
Along with academic advisors, professors, and student affairs professionals, at MSU Denver can help ensure access and inclusion for all students with disabilities. Students are encouraged to use the on campus service if they identify having either temporary or permanent physical, health, learning, sensory or mental health disabilities. Students can meet one on one with an Accessibility Coordinator to determine reasonable and appropriate accommodations.

The Counseling Center at MSU Denver will be offering different group workshops for those within the university. These workshops range from Personal Effectiveness to Diversity workshops, to group workshops about LGBTQ Relationships and Interpersonal Growth. To sign up for a group, students may call (303) 615-9988 to request a brief meeting with a facilitator to start. To learn more click HERE>.
We have provided a brief description of a group workshop:
Midday Mindfulness: This is a group fro those interested in learning mindfulness practices and integrating them into daily life. The group will focus on a variety of mindfulness skills, practicing these skills during group and in between meetings. the group will include discussions of incorporating these practices in to a mindfulness approach to life. Facilitator: Ray Gornell, Psy D., Staff Psychologist Day/Time: Thursday's 1:00pm to 2:00pm
There is still time to apply for the General Scholarship Application. We encourage you to also let your students know about applying to the scholarships. The Priority deadline for completing the 2018-2019 General Scholarship Application is March 1st.
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is still offering scholarship workshops to assist with completing the scholarship application. There are a few drop-in workshops will be held in the Student Success Building computer lab (SSB 236) on the following dates and times:
- February 22nd from 2:00-4:00pm
- February 28th from 2:00-4:00pm
- March 7th from 11:00-1:00pm
- March 13th from 11:00-1:00pm
Our office would also like to share that we are currently hiring student Orientation Leaders for the upcoming summer/year. This is a great way for your student to get involved around campus and gain professional development skills. Want to be more convincing? Feel free to share this article with your student and let them know the great reasons of why one should be an Orientation Leader.
