Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) showcases your knowledge of analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills through a computer adaptive test. Currently, the GMAT is available both in-person and online.
The in-person GMAT includes four sections: Analytical writing (30 minutes- 1 essay), Integrated Reasoning (30 minutes- 12 questions), Quantitative (75 minutes- 37 questions), and Verbal (75 minutes- 41 questions). Test-takers choose at the beginning of the exam in which order they will complete the sections. For more information, or to register for the in-person GMAT, visit https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat.
The online GMAT includes three sections: Quantitative, Verbal, and Integrated Reasoning sections (excludes the Analytical writing section). The online GMAT offers the same time, scoring, and number of items as the test center-based exam. Additionally, the online GMAT is available 24/7 and can be taken via Windows or Mac computers. For more information, or to register for the online GMAT, visit https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat-online.
GMAT scores range from 200-800. The MBA Admissions Committee conducts a holistic review of your admissions materials (resume, personal essay, undergraduate GPA, GMAT score, etc.) so there is no exact number an applicant needs to earn to be considered for the graduate program.
GMAT preparation resources include:
- GMAT Official Starter Kit + Practice Exams 1 & 2
- Princeton Review's Free Practice GMAT
- Kaplan’s free question of the day
MBA applicants should start preparing for the GMAT at least six months prior to the MBA priority deadlines:
- Fall priority deadline: First Monday of June
- Spring priority deadline: First Monday of October
