LGBTQ Resources

Our office offers a variety of support, education and advocacy services for the entire campus community including:

  • Support for those who many have questions about sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression
  • Advocacy for students experiencing discrimination or harassment based on a real or perceived gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer identity
  • Training programs and workshops about combating homophobia and transphobia, working with LGBTQ+ individuals, and senstivity considerations
  • Library with more than 2,000 books and videos available for research and leisure
  • Educational, academic, and social events such as National Coming Out Day, Bi/Pan/Fluid Awareness Day, World AIDS Day, Transgender Day of Remembrance and many others, providing information about LGBTQ+ issues

Looking to get involved in activism around Colorado? Here's a list of some different groups to join, donate to, or volunteer with!

One Colorado is the state’s leading advocacy organization dedicated to advancing LGBTQ equality in Colorado. The Trevor Project is a national, 24-hour crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline for LGBTQ youth. Volunteers provide support to LGBTQ youth in crisis. Click here for more information on how to volunteer with their organization.

The Trans Lifeline -  The lifeline: 877-565-8860 

The Trans Lifeline is a crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline for transgender people. Volunteers are trained in crisis intervention to work as operators assisting transgender people in crisis. Click here to volunteer with their organization (Note: Volunteers must be over 18 and are preferably transgender.)
