Dr. Lisa Suter at the mountains Dr. Lisa Suter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English where she teaches courses in the Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Writing minor. Students wishing to meet the increasingly complex writing needs of future careers or graduate degrees can take Rhet/Comp/Pro classes such as Professional & Scholarly Writing, Rhetoric & Style, Rhetoric of Social Media, and more.

Dr. Suter has had a chapter accepted in a book, Nineteenth-Century American Activist Rhetorics, which is forthcoming from the Modern Language Association (MLA) next year. Her chapter, titled “Acting Like Rhetors: U.S. Women’s Rights in Amateur Theatrical Performances” focuses on the feminist discourse in short plays written and staged at girls’ schools in the late nineteenth century.
