Campus Emergencies & Safety

To report a medical emergency, please call 911 from a campus phone. Campus phones are linked to the Auraria Campus Police Department (ACPD), which will coordinate emergency responses with the Health Center.  Health Center personnel are trained as first responders to emergencies, and will assist in coordinating care for the individual(s) involved.

If you are using a cell phone, please call 303-556-5000 to reach the ACPD. If you call 911 from your cell phone, you will get the Denver Police - this may delay the response to campus.

The Health Center urges all students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus to carry emergency contact information in either their wallet or in the contact list on their cell phone.

If using a cell phone, please create a contact using the acronym ICE (In Case of Emergency) and the phone number of the primary person to contact in an emergency: this will significantly help emergency responders.

What is an Emergency Notification System?

The Emergency Notification System (ENS) is a communications tool provided by Rave Mobile Safety that plays a critical role in keeping people safe before, during, and after any emergency on campus.

As a student, faculty or staff member, you can choose to be contacted in a campus emergency via SMS text message through Auraria’s ENS.

While there is no charge from Rave or the schools for this service, your carrier plan may apply standard or text-messaging charges.
