Working with administrators, doctors and nurses, professionals in Health Care Information Systems need a diverse and specialized skill set. At MSU Denver, you will gain hands-on experience in network and database administration, clinical information systems and electronic medical records, and data querying and analysis, particularly related to the health care industry.

Learn to use computers and data to address issues in health care information systems, plan and implement upgrades in technology and help provide better medical and health care services. The Health Care Information Systems undergraduate degree program at MSU Denver combines programs in Health Care Management and Computer Information Systems to prepare you for management roles in planning, coordinating and directing computer- and data-related activities in a health care organization.

MSU Denver’s Department of Health Professions also offers a Master of Health Administration (MHA) graduate degree and post-baccalaureate Certificate in Health Data Science to advance your knowledge and career in health care.

Dr. Jeff Helton has worked 25 years as an executive in the health care industry; leading hospitals, health plans and integrated health systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Health Care Management at the University of Texas, his M.S. in Hospital and Health Administration at the University of Alabama Birmingham, and his B.B.A. in Health Care Administration at Eastern Kentucky University.
