The Health Institute is proud to offer the following opportunities for students interested in health related fields.


The Health Careers Opportunity Program

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Grant is helping to fund opportunities to mentor students going into health related fields. 

The Health Careers Opportunity Program is a scholarship program for MSU Denver students interested in entering health and behavioral health fields.

Scholars accepted to this 9-month program will receive:

  • extensive life design advising
  • mentoring
  • scholarships and stipends
  • training in cultural competence, social capital and emerging health issues.

Scholars will also receive additional support toward matriculation, graduation, advancement to graduate programs, and/or employment in a health-related field.

This project is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under grant number D18HP32122 and title “Health Career Opportunities Program” for initial award amount of $617,496 and recommended future support of $2,464,010 annualized over five total years. The DACA/Undocumented Student Health Careers Opportunity Program

The Colorado Health Foundation (CHF) Grant is helping to fund opportunities to mentor students going into health related fields. 

The DACA/Undocumented Student Health Careers Opportunity Program is a scholarship program for MSU Denver students interested in entering health and behavioral health fields.

Scholars accepted to this 9-month program will receive:

  • extensive life design advising
  • mentoring
  • scholarships and stipends
  • training in cultural competence, social capital and emerging health issues.

Scholars will also receive additional support toward matriculation, graduation, advancement to graduate programs, and/or employment in a health-related field.
